What is a Giclée print?
The Definition: Giclée (zhee-klay) – French noun that means a spray or a spurt of liquid.
The Term: The term “giclée print” connotes an elevation in printmaking technology. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans or photos and printed with archival quality inks onto various materials including canvas, fine art, and photo-base paper. The giclée printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction.
The Process: Giclée prints are typically created using professional ink-jet printers. Our prints, produced by Brilliant Studio, are created with an eight color Epson digital press which sprays millions of drops of ink onto fine German etching paper.
The Quality: Our giclée prints are created using pigmented inks that resist fading and last longer (up to 200 years) than any other ink available.
