Sebastian and Brie

This is a painting of the artist's son Sebastian and his friend and neighbor Brie. The boys are standing in front of the fireplace in Sebastian's dining room. The artist's home was built around 175 years ago. On the mantle is a collection of early pewter, antique whale oil lamps, and on the extreme right is the prow of a wooden ship model of the original yacht America. Sebastian and his dad spent a memorable summer building it together.
